How does the two-phase remodel package work with my flooring contractors?
Installing hardwood, tile, or carpet requires moving your pool table out of the room. We coordinate a 2-phase process: Phase 1 disassembles the table and safely stages the slates vertically in your garage or an adjacent room ($300). Once your new floors are installed and fully cured, Phase 2 returns to rebuild the frame, melt beeswax seams, re-tension felt, and machinist-level the table ($400). Total: $700.
Why can’t my flooring installers just slide the table across the room?
Never let flooring contractors slide or put dollies under a 3-piece slate pool table! An assembled table weighs 800+ pounds. Pushing it twists the hardwood cabinet frame, shears the slate alignment dowels, cracks the beeswax/plaster seams, and can gouge or crack your subfloor.
How are the slate slabs stored safely during remodeling?
We wrap each slate piece in thick quilted moving blankets and stand them vertically on their long edges against a secure wall, padded off the concrete floor. We never stack slates flat on top of each other, which can crack the bottom slab under extreme compressive load.
